La bamba es de un cantante mexicano llamado andre huesca
At 10:09 which is bar 30 there is a transition which is somewhat difficult for me, and the F#7(#5) is a difficult chord to play also. I had to reverse the positions of the middle and ring finger to make it easier to play. At one point when I was having trouble making a chord transition to a difficult chord you showed me (I believe) 3 different exercises that would help train the muscle memory. Can't remember what all of those were now---perhaps would make a good 1 or 2 minute quick tutorial?
Thanks alot man
Thank you for your constant efforts. Love from India.
Really enjoying them Andre. Robben ford solo is great
Yes, I have to continue that transcription actually, thanks for the reminder, I'll schedule it for next week :-)
Next live stream is on Tuesday July 9th, 9:00am Pacific Time. Subscribe to my channel or become a free patreon member to get the notifications. You can also find the streaming schedule here: www.yourguitarworkshop.com/live-streams/
Still have no idea what's going on 😅
Allô Allô
Yes!
In a more acoustic guitar vein Danish guitarist Soren Madsen did a very nice arrangement of Metallica's 'Nothing Else Matters'. That would also be a great one to transcribe. ruclips.net/video/WlGiOiRQNhI/видео.html
Holy crap, that version has 20 million views!!
So if you are up for rock'n'roll tunes suggestions, still think it would be great to give some love to 'Little Wing'. While there is no video of Jimi playing it, this cover by Jamie Harrison gives me a visceral connection no other covers have. And the tone of his guitar is spot on. ruclips.net/video/TpQ4mOKeD1U/видео.html
I know this video, Jamie has an incredible tone and plays with great feel. I will have a look at that, the thing is that "Jimi Hendrix" videos are more at risk for copyright strikes so I will check on that first
Next live stream is this Thursday July 4th at 900am pacific time, be there, or be elsewhere ;-) ruclips.net/user/liveVKaLq-BVB2o
I try doing it but my thumb just mute it💀
Love it Andre!
Thanks Pete! Tomorrow should be fun too, I'll be doing a live practice session of a solo I've never played, so hopefully I'll be able to show how progress is made.
@@Yourguitarworkshop cant wait
I appreciate this man for these mistakes. That’s what’s real, and I’m now officially subbed. You are a realistic representation of growth on the guitar.
thanks so much! I am going live tomorrow again so tune in for more mistakes to come haha ;-)
Beautiful.
Thank you, be sure so check out Mateus Asato's original version, it is magical
im still so confused
Im waiting on this one with the capo and crying in a loop, it would be awesome 👏🏻
I did the tutorial on this one a while ago, it is here www.yourguitarworkshop.com/guitar-lessons/the-pain/
If you get inspired to focus on another Tommy Emmanuel tutorial/transcription here he is performing 'One Mint Julep' which is quite a bit different from most other songs he covers (well kinda, since he covers everything!). ruclips.net/video/u8xIbMP__eA/видео.html
i keep on just muting my strings on accident 😥 got any tips?
This is really cool 😎. This song is a classic and will be around for a really long time 😀 Please also do “More than a Woman” by the BeeGee’s. Another great classic👍
It is a classic indeed. I haven't done much on the Bee Gees, I know them but not so well. It was really interesting reading that this tune means so much to Asato. Not something I would have guessed :-)
@@Yourguitarworkshop The BeeGee’s are an interesting group. Every brother could sing well, one could sing well and write hit songs not only for the group but for other singers as well. The movie Saturday Night Fever just catapulted them into another hemisphere. But then the 80’s came along and the disco era ended and they weren’t so popular anymore. But, they were recognized decades later for their greatness into the Hall of Fame.
@@CAP21 I'm a kid of the 80's and my parents were all about classical music so that's probably why they're fairly "new" to me. Funny enough I know a lot of 60's and 70's music and bands, and I've heard of the Bee Gees, they're just just not that familiar
Good work man!! Like +1
thanks Rick! starting next week I'lll be doing these live sessions 3x/week :-)
Cannot do it.
thank you!
My pleasure :-)
Ahhh, missed you live. Just assumed it would be at 10:00am, couldn't find an email notice and your posting in my RUclips subscriptions must have been a couple days back because I couldn't find it when I looked for it in recent notices last night.
I missed you as well, normally you're one of the first to comment during the stream 🙂 I am working on a solution (mailinglist) for yourguitarworkshop related stuff. I think that works better. Also, there's patreon, I can send a notification to all patrons I think, I just haven't figured that out yet.
Voicing i think you were looking for.
I'm not sure if I follow entirely, can you explain?
Think ive finally got them to work, the sort of "push in" explanation makes way more sense then the "hurgle burgle grace with your thumb" crap where id put my thumb right on rhe edge and it was horrifically uncomfortable
great job for not giving up! I never really thought about how I did these until I had to explain how to do it to my students. great to see that it worked for you too 🙂
Now, this is a great guitar lesson!!!!!!!!
Thanks Michael!
so today I was working on the parts a bit and there's a few mistakes in there so they will be fixed on the tab for patreon. Also, I mentioned some point in the video that one note is sounding and a different one is played, where I think he's playing open A. Well, I have to backtrack on that. I was practicing this and actually it is what it is haha. So I was too quick with that assumption. Not sure why I heard it during the live stream the way I did but that's real life for ya. Sometimes you get it right, sometimes you get it wrong. 🙂
Hi What software are you using? Looks cool
I use Guitar Pro for the transcriptions. I used to use Sibelius but that was prohibitively expensive so I switched. For guitar it does the trick. If you'd write for different instruments you'd need something else I think.
Thank you so much for this amazing job! I've learned like 60% of the song with you and all of the solo.. keep going buddy , greets from brazil 👊🏻🤝🏻⌛️
Thank you so much, that really means a lot! Good to know is that I am currently working on Mateus Asato's version of "How Deep Is Your Love". I do a live breakdown of the tune. The next one is this Friday the 28th at 900am Pacific Time. Let me know when you've done the full 100% of this one 🙂
@@Yourguitarworkshop ill let you know! After finish this lesson, i will learn all of the asato songs from your channel, it really helps a lot! Thanks again mister, beautiful job, just finished all the base from time and 50 percent of the solo🎸🤘🏻
@@pedroleal3543 That's awesome! Enjoy the journey, Asato's tunes are truly magnificent 🙂
Hope you enjoyed this one so far! Next stream is Friday June 28 at 9am Pacific Time. The pdf from this stream is now available at patreon.com/yourguitarworkshop The next live stream on this tune will be here: ruclips.net/user/live-_bg-_yql2k?feature=share
sensacional
I think your comment is quite sensational ;-)
Thanks Andre!
Makes me happy you're enjoying it. I will continue with this one next week
this is probably the hardest musical skill on the planet
I think bending is a lot trickier, definitely as a teacher I see more students struggle with bending than with pinched harmonics
@@Yourguitarworkshop oh really , that’s easy for me
@@NikosKatsikanis yeah it is funny how these things are different from person to person :-)
@@Yourguitarworkshop ikr -what im tryign to figure out now is string picking direction I've been using alternate picking my whole life but I've heard its inefficient
i only hear a buzz
Best lesson. Direct to the topic 👍
Beautiful!!
It is one of my favourite tunes from Asato
Great, where is the tab?
I have it on my patreon page, ik think the link is in the description. I'm on my way to go camping 🙂
Yeah no luck with any tutorials whatsoever. Found the sweet spot, worked. Cool. But wait, no, I can't get it consistently, oh wait, now I can, but no, I lost it--I can't do it consistently at all and it's always quiet and it's never loud and squealy like it's supposed to be.
Thank you so much, it worked after my first try🙏🏻
That's awesome, have fun with it 🙂
Really enjoyed these André. Working hard on them!
that's awesome! Yes it is a wonderful tune and not as tough to play as some of Tommy's repertoire 🙂
@@Yourguitarworkshop literally working on first part now. Neat way to immerse in not only Tommy but you also and your techniques!
@@petestern3639 Makes me happy I'm able to help :-)
just awesome👌and thank you for this great tutorial
Makes me happy people are still watching this, have fun!
Ok.... I've been playing for 35 years and do pinch harmonics in a completely different way - this method looks cool :) My son is learning now, and found the method I use to be really difficult. I'm going to show him this vid as it seems a lot simpler than the method I use. Nice one!
Now I am very curious about your method! Can you describe what you do differently? Let me know how it goes with your son too 🙂
@@Yourguitarworkshop Ah ok, the method I use is to hit the string normally with the pick and my 'ring finger' fingernail at essentially the same time. It's predictable (for me anyway) and I use it all the time. It's just a tightening of your grip on the pick to tuck your fingernail onto the string. Just like with your technique there are harmonic sweet spots, exactly where you've indicated. By the way, even though it's a work-day here, I quickly plugged in a guitar and tried your technique and it hit straight away :) I'm not used to it, but I can see that a new player would find that super easy and could develop that into their playing style! My son isn't back from school yet, but I'll update to let you know how it goes!
@@3DRCGuy Thanks so much for your explanation, tried your way and it definitely works. My harmonics don't sound as clear when I do but I think that's a matter of practice. Your method is in a way similar to playing "picked harmonics"--> yes I made that name up., but it best describes the artificial harmonics as you would play them on an acoustic guitar. you would touch the string with your indexfinger and pluck with the thumb. In your case the picking is in front of the harmonic which might be why I find them less clear? Not sure. Super cool though, thanks!
Ottima spiegazione, bravo
Maestro, puede subir el tutorial Cherokee versión Chet Atkins ???? Gracias
do you mean this one: ruclips.net/video/OH_xYP7vMX4/видео.html
U earned a sub with just one video... consider yourself lucky😊
OK, around 13:56 there is a tricky little bit of bending 'back' the ring finger from D string for a hammer on. I at first thought this was just on the G string, but after listening to you and Tommy a couple of times I realized it is on both the G and B string----which is a good thing as I was unable to do just the G string.
Yes, and unfortunately in the video I didn't check my feed otherwise I would have made sure all was properly visible for everyone to see 😕
Amazing! Thank you!
Great to see you're enjoying the video :-)
